Its chassis was composed of two steel beams in print format "U", joined by sleepers.

The front suspension is independent with the use of upper and lower trays, coil springs, telescopic shock absorbers and double action.

In the back is used, a classical system with differential drive axle, leaf springs and hydraulic shock absorbers double action.

The brake system consists of two hydraulic circuits, with discs in front and drums in back.

The system has a valve which promotes back, designed to equalize the pressure exerted on the rear drums in accordance with vehicle load.

In 1995, the pickups have gained a system RWAL (Rear Wheel Anti-Lock) to increase the effectiveness of rear brakes. For marketing purposes, this system was called ABS-T.

The diesel versions employed initially Q20B Perkins, a 3.9L engine of 87cv and 4-cylinder, also used in the previous 10 Series.

In 1992, this engine gave way to Maxion S4, also 4-cylinder, but with 4Litro in aspirated versions with 90cv and the new version of Turbo S4T of 125cv, to compete with the Ford F-1000 Turbo. In 1995, the Maxion overhauled turbo version to fit it to the Euro-II e mission, because of its exports to the European market. The new engine became known S4T-Plus, now with 150bhp.

The gearboxes were supplied by Clark, initially with 4-speed (up to 1990) and subsequently with 5-speed.

Only versions with the engine S4T and S4T-Plus used a different type of gearbox, a ZF S5-42, 5 speed, with the fifth "Drive".
